In addition to our main research areas, the Department conducts innovative projects in the field of Science Communication focused on testing new formats of communication as well as further professional and research fields of Science Communication. The experience and knowledge gained by the staff involved in the projects is incorporated into the research and practical teachings of the WMK Bachelor and Master degree programs at our university.

Previous cooperation partners and sponsors include the Nationales Institut für Wissenschaftskommunikation (NaWiK, eng. National Institute for Science Communication), Wissenschaft im Dialog (eng. Science in Dialog), the Zentrum für Mediales Lernen (ZML, Center for Technology-Enhanced Learning) at KIT and the Wissenschaftsjahre (eng. Science Years) of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
